چکیده
Methods This study is a preplanned retrospective analysis of a large database created by Japan SEPTIC DIC study conducted in 41 ICUs. This study investigated associations between sepsis-related coagulopathy, anticoagulation therapies, and clinical outcomes of 3195 adult patients with severe sepsis and septic shock admitted to ICUs in Japan from January 2011 through December 2013. To estimate associations between IvIgG administration and mortalities, multivariable logistic regression modeling and propensity score-based matching were used for analysis with SPSS version 22.

Sepsis is the systemic response to severe infection in critically ill patients. Sepsis, septic syndrome & septic shock represent the increasingly severe stages of the same disease. Despite the remarkable improvements in outcome, sepsis & septic shock remain an important cause of morbidity & mortality in children. This is a retrospective study among the patients who were admitted in the pediatri...
متن کاملThe effect of physiologic dose of intravenous hydrocortisone in patients with refractory septic shock: a randomized control trial
Objective: Septic shock is a response to infection and tissue hypoperfusion which does not respond to fluid therapy and eventually leads to organ dysfunction. Aggressive treatment of a broad-spectrum antimicrobial and supportive measures are the cornerstones of successful treatment. In addition to the main treatment, there are adjunctive therapies. Steroids are one of the treat...

Analyzing medical records of 979 patients with severe sepsis or septic shock provided some evidence that the use of low-dose aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) was associated with decreased hospital mortality. However, the benefit was abolished when aspirin and NSAIDs were given together.

Septic shock is the 13th leading cause of death in the United States. The rate of severe sepsis nearly doubled and mortality increased more than 60% during the 10-year period ending in 2003. Systemic inflammatory response syndrome has noninfectious and infectious causes. Noninfectious ones include burns, trauma, severe pancreatitis, and therapy with monoclonal antibodies or immunomodulatory dru...
متن کاملOptimal Aminoglycoside Therapy Following the Sepsis: How Much Is Too Much?
Severe sepsis and septic shock are major problems as the result of high rates morbidity andmortality in intensive care units (ICUs). In the presence of septic shock, each hour of delay inthe administration of effective antibiotics is associated with a measurable increase in mortality.Aminoglycosides are effective broad-spectrum antibiotics that are commonly used in ICUs forthe treatment of life...
